Awana Registration 2026-27

Please read all the information below prior to registering:

The Awana program aims to connect children ages 2-12 to the life-changing message of salvation and gives the opportunity for strong Biblical education. Awana is designed to be an engaging time of learning with games, songs, activities, verse memorization and fun prizes! 

Awana at Bethany Chapel exists as a central part of our Friday night family programming. The intention is to have a place for Bethany families to connect with each other to strengthen relationships within the church and to facilitate faith formation for all ages. Awana gives discipleship opportunities for children as well as serving and connecting opportunities for parents and other adults who desire to be invested in the next generation.

REGISTRATION REQUIREMENTS

1. Attend Bethany Chapel
Exceptions:

•  All children who do not have a church home and are invited by a friend registered in Awana can attend without the requirement to attend Bethany Chapel.
• Consideration will be given to families from other churches interested in attending for one year with the purpose of launching Awana programs at their home church the following year.

2. Volunteer

•  A minimum of one volunteer per household must be registered. Volunteers can be a parent, grandparent or guardian who commits to attend every week that the child (or children) attends. Please register all adults that may be volunteering through the year.
• All volunteers require a valid police check. Our system will no longer allow families to check in to Awana if a police check has not been submitted. Contact Deb if you need help with this process and to submit your active police check.
• All volunteers are required to attend Plan to Protect training every two years. This will be offered in conjunction with mandatory Awana volunteer training Sept 5, 2025 and then again in 2027.

Families that do not meet the above requirements to attend Awana at Bethany Chapel are encouraged to find an available Awana program and/or contact Awana Canada to start an Awana program at their own church. 

PROGRAMS OFFERED

PUGGLES (Age 2-3)

These littlest Awana club members are welcomed each week with stories, songs and activities.  Lessons teach and reinforce four Biblical principles: 1. God made everything, 2. God saw that it was good, 3. God is love and, 4. Give thanks. 

CUBBIES (Age 3-5/preschool; must be potty-trained)

Using a combination of stories, crafts, and other activities, children learn what God says in the Bible in a fun way. The characteristics of God, including Him being the Creator of all things, is learned from both the Old and New Testaments. 

SPARKS (Kindergarten - Grade 2)

Children in Sparks learn about God’s love and His plan for salvation. They learn how the entire Bible fits together in chronological order and about God’s amazing plan for them by studying the major characters in the Old and New Testaments. 

T&T (Truth & Training) (Grades 3-6)

T&T kids explore some of the fundamental principles of Christianity. They learn about the character and nature of God, the structure and sequence of the Bible, what Jesus has done for them, and key practices as one of His followers. 

REGISTRATION COSTS

The cost to register a child for Cubbies, Sparks & T&T is $99 and the cost for Puggles is $75. There is an additional cost for their uniforms ($25-$35, once per club level) and handbook & badges/jewels ($30-$35, once per year).

Fees are non-refundable once your child is registered.  Please ensure to register your volunteer(s) at the same time you register your child/ren in order to complete your registration. If a child or children are registered without an adult volunteer, the child/ren will be waitlisted until a volunteer is added. 

DETAILS

• Our clubs will run on Friday nights at Bethany from 6:30 to 8:00, followed by an optional, informal family fellowship/games time until 10pm.
• The program will begin again on Friday, Sept 11th, 2025 and wrap up on May 7th, 2026
• There will be no Awana on the following days: 
  • October 9
  • October 30
  • December 11, 18 & 25
  • January 1, 2026
  • February 12, 2026
  • March 26, 2026
  • April 2, 2026
